40-year employee highlights City of St. Cloud Service Awards

    Spending 40 years working for one company is to be commended.

    When that company is a city government, and you recall what St. Cloud looked like in 1982 because you worked there, that feat is to be … really commended!

    John Koones, who spent about 30 of his 40 years with the city as a Battalion Chief and reserve officer for the Fire and Police departments and is now part of the Information Technology department, was honored at the city’s annual Employee Service Awards program.

    He was one of 13 employees honored for 20 or more years of service, and dozens of others who’ve served the citizens of St. Cloud for at least five years.

    Scott Adams and Art Lee of the Public Works department were honored for 30 years of service, and Edwin Mateo (Police Department), Donald Callaghan (Public Works). Chad Peterson (Fire Department) and Keith Sabisch (Parks & Recreation) have 25 years in.

    Celebrating 20 years: Leslie Messina (Finance), Eric Holloway (Parks & Recreation), Denise Roberts (Police Department), Richard Tonks (Fire Department) and Nadine Zilke (Police Department).
