Old Lake Wilson Walmart revealing remodel Friday

Per Walmart's corporate communication office, Kissimmee residents can get a first look at the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter west of Kissimmee, as the much-anticipated project is now complete.

A special grand reopening event will take place at the store at at 2855 N Old Lake Wilson Road (just south of U.S. !92) on Friday beginning at 9 a.m. The all-day event will feature a DJ and family fun activities along with a ribbon cutting at 9:30 am with Kissimmee Mayor Olga Gonzalez.

Walmart vendors will provide samples and giveaways while supplies last.

To mark the reopening, the store is donating $5,000 to Celebration K-8 School for an upgrade to their library including adding new books written in a variety of languages from around the world. A check presentation will be held during the ribbon cutting event with members of the school staff.

“Our store will now have 49 registers which is more than almost every Walmart Supercenter individually has in the country,” said Justin Dillon, Store Manager at the Kissimmee Walmart. “Being that we are located in such close proximity to major amusement parks in Orlando, our store not only has a high volume of local customers, but we also have a high volume of tourist customers. The added registers will make for a quicker and more efficient check-out experience."
