Weather today: umbrella this afternoon, jacket tonight — heavy hoodie tomorrow?

Lows Wednesday morning expected in the low 40s in Osceola

The merry-go-round, spin-the-wheel of weather locally continues this week, with showers and breezy but warm conditions expected during the day Tuesday before a(nother) cold front pass through this evening and changes the temperatures.

After a foggy morning, expect intermittent rain during the day Tuesday, mainly in the afternoon. Strong to isolated severe storms will be possible, capable of producing strong to damaging wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph, small hail, and perhaps a tornado or two. Storms will be moving quickly to the northeast, around 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

Then, temperatures plummet, from a high in the mid 70s today down to 40-45 degrees overnight.

It remains interesting the rest of the week. The sun returns Wednesday, but not a warm one, as we only reach a high of 57, and drop back into the mid-40s Wednesday night. Temps then rebound for Thursday and Friday (high of 72), when the next cold front moves through to dip the temperatures back down Friday night to around 45.

The weekend will be stunning — if you like wearing your sweaters and hoodies. Saturday will be like Wednesday, very sunny but very chilly, with a high of 55 and north winds at 10-15 mph. Sunday's high is expected to be 60, but accompanied by a northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Enjoy the weather roulette of January!
