Veterans Entrepreneur Initiative Business Summit
The Veterans Entrepreneur Initiative (VEI) will hold its second Business Summit on Thursday, May 9, 2024. The program runs from 1300-1700 (1:00 – 5:00 pm for the civilians and those that have forgotten how to tell military time) with a networking reception to follow. The location is the GuideWell Innovation Center in Lake Nona. VEI was started by three veterans, Rafael Caamaño, Ricardo Garcia and Gordon Hogan, under the auspices of the UCF’s Business Incubation Program to help veterans launch and grow their own businesses. VEI became its own separate 501(c)3 non-profit organization to better serve the veteran community and has assisted several Osceola County veterans to start and build businesses. Urgent care locations for veterans
Veterans enrolled in VA health care can use over 4,000 urgent care locations. Care is available to treat non-life-threatening conditions. To be eligible you must be a Veteran enrolled in VA health care and received care at a VA or in-network provider sometime in the past 24 months. VA and in-network urgent care providers can meet many of your health care needs, including some diagnostic tests, and can provide care for minor illnesses or injuries much faster than in an emergency room. Travel costs to urgent care may also be reimbursed to eligible veterans. To check eligibility in Florida, Puerto Rico, and most eastern states, call 888-901-6609. The Veterans Club of Celebration
Seems like this organization has a lot going on, including outreach visits to fellow veterans who are unable to attend regular events due to age or illness, and supporting an Honor Flight for veterans to Washington D.C. The club recently had their 25th anniversary. You do not have to live in Celebration to join, and they also have an auxiliary. For more information see https:// bit.ly/3vgkHR7.
