UPDATE — Osceola County Sheriff's deputies have made an arrest in a Monday bank robbery in Poinciana.

On Wednesday, Kenyada Emanuel Jacobs, 46, certified as a habitual violent offender by the state last month, was arrested and charged with robbery without a weapon and grand theft.

Just after noon Monday, deputies took a report from a teller at the South State Bank on Cypress Parkway near Doverplum Avenue that said a black male approached her counter and immediately pulled out a note demanding money. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of currency before the suspect ran out of the bank.

Tuesday, Jacobs was identified as the suspect through an investigation. Police conducted surveillance Wednesday, and the West Criminal Investigation Division, apprehended Kenyada. He is being held in the Osceola County Jail on $8,500 bond.

Court records show Jacobs was out on bond on a Feb. 21 arrest for felony drug possession, and had been arrested in November 2023 by Kissimmee Police in connection to another bank robbery in Kissimmee for which he was awaiting a May trial. State prosecutors had issued him a habitual violent felony offender notice, which would double any mandatory minimum sentence for his charges, and force him to serve the entirety of any sentence.

He has a string of felony drug-related, robbery and theft arrests in Osceola County going back to 2006, county court records show.
