UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol has reported that two vehicles were involved in a near head-on collision. The driver of the van, a 47-year-old from Deltona, was headed eastbound approaching Story Bend Road when he failed to maintain his lane and drifted into the westbound lane and struck the Acura driven by a 28-year-old Haines City man headed westbound. The impact caused the Acura to overturn on the grass shoulder and land on its roof.
The van driver was taken to St. Cloud ER with non-life threatening injuries. The Acura driver was taken to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, FHP troopers said.
The roadblock in the area was cleared around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers are on the scene of a fatal crash that occurred at 6:30 p.m. at Nova Road and Story Bend Road, involving a 2017 Ford Transit Van and a 2005 Acura TL.
The occupant of one of the vehicles was transported to an area hospital and pronounced deceased.
There is currently roadblock on both eastbound and westbound lanes of Nova Road. Traffic is being diverted at Pine Grove Road and Deer Park Road.
