The Florida Highway Patrol is still looking for the driver and vehicle that struck and killed a male bicyclist on north Narcoossee Road in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday.
Troopers say it happened just after 3:30 a.m. at Narcoossee and Countryside Court, just over a mile north of U.S. Highway 192. The bicyclist, who FHP says was wearing a helmet, was in the bike lane ahead of the unknown vehicle, which was traveling in the right lane and struck the bicyclist before fleeing the scene northbound on Narcoossee.
Late Wednesday afternoon, FHP confirmed the victim is a 68-year-old St. Cloud man.
Investigators say they've located a car part on-scene from a vehicle that could be involved in this fatal incident. Anyone with information about the driver in this crash this crash is asked to call FHP at 407-737- 2213 or CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS.
UPDATE: FHP has confirmed car parts located on scene come back to a 2023 or 2024 Toyota Tundra Platinum Edition white pickup truck, like the one pictured in this story (vehicle pictured is not the subject vehicle). The vehicle involved should have damage to the front bumper and front-right headlight assembly. Any body shops or mechanics that may have repaired a vehicle matching that description is asked to contact FHP.
