If your commute or travels will take you on Interstate 4 between State Road 429 and Daryl Carter Parkway early Thursday morning, be aware of a Florida Department of Transportation traffic operation that may create slowdowns and delays.
Traffic pacing operations in the westbound and eastbound lanes are planned from 1-5 a.m. Thursday so utility crews can pull lines across the interstate.
FDOT says law enforcement will slow traffic to below 20 mph, and may bring it to a complete stop, for short durations. Drivers entering I-4 at the following locations may have to wait or follow along at a reduced speed.
In the westbound lanes, the pacing operation will begin at or near Daryl Carter Parkway overpass and affect:
- I-4 entrance ramp from State Road 535 (Exit 68)
- I-4 entrance ramps from State Road 536 (Epcot Center Drive) (Exit 67)
- I-4 entrance ramps from Osceola Parkway (Exit 65)
- I-4 entrance ramps from U.S. 192 (Exit 64)
- I-4 entrance ramp from World Drive / State Road 417 Southbound (Exit 62)
In the eastbound lanes, the pacing operation will begin in Polk County at the entrance ramp from U.S.-27 (Exit 55) and affect:
- I-4 entrance ramp from County Road 532 (Osceola Polk Line Road) (Exit 58)
- I-4 entrance ramp from State Road 429 (Exit 60)
