Matching requests (or orders) from surrounding areas regarding a very taxed wastewater system, Toho Water Authority has issued a water usage advisory to customers.
The authority is asking its customers to reduce water usage in order to maintain, or re-establish in flooded areas, normal operations.
Among the requests, Toho Water asks residents to use water only when necessary. Limit use of clothes washer and dishwasher — if paper plates and cups were part of your hurricane supplies, use them.
Turn off irrigation systems — Osceola County received 10 to 15 inches of rain, the grass will stay moist for quite some time.
These tips will help ease the strain on the system and lower the chance of any boil-water notices being issued, as Toho Water said none have yet been given.
