Toho Water Authority launches new, more user-friendly website for customers

Toho Water Authority (Toho) launched a new, upgraded website created with the Toho Promise in mind: Our Customers, Our Community, and Our Employees Trust That Toho Cares.

Website features including new quick links, a chatbot and mobile compatibly make it easy for users to navigate. These upgrades exemplify Toho’s commitment to its customers.

When a user arrives on the website, one of the first things they will notice is the new Quick Links section. Derived from data regarding the most popular clicks on the previous website, this section provides direct links to those popular destinations. While the recently acquired St Cloud customers have been directed to continue using the St. Cloud Utilities website for their needs, Toho’s Quick Links section contains a link redirecting them.

Surveys also were conducted on employees and customers to gage their likes and dislikes about the website. The feedback influenced the streamlined and easier to navigate design.  

The website also includes a new virtual chatbot feature. The chatbot allows users to type in requests, select an option from common requests and directs customers to the desired information on the website. If further assistance is necessary, the chatbot provides the phone number and email address to contact our customer service call center.

The virtual chat bot has an English and Spanish capability while the rest of the website has a multiple translation option which allows users to navigate in their preferred language.

A crucial element missing from the previous Toho website was mobile compatibility. Research revealed that users prefer to visit the website from their mobile device. The new website design was centered on how users tend to navigate and interact with websites on their mobile device.

The colors and layout chosen for the website are intended to create a clean and calm experience for visitors. To personalize the website, photos of Toho employees were used instead of using stock photos. Most of the photos are Toho employees in their work environments. It’s an opportunity for visitors to see the many faces who serve our community.
