Supporting 4-H students and Osceola County Fair Initiative

Osceola County District 3 Commissioner Brandon Arrington was among the community leaders who joined in recognizing the outstanding efforts of student exhibitors at the 2025 Osceola County Fair.

Among them were the dedicated participants in the 4-H Youth Development Program who spent months raising and preparing livestock for the fair. Their hard work reflects the program’s core values: leadership, handson learning, and community service.

Commissioner Arrington, along with his fellow Commissioners, purchased livestock raised by the students using funds from their Osceola County Betterment Grant. In a show of community support, the meat derived from the livestock was donated to local nonprofits and food pantries, including the Osceola Council on Aging and St. Rose of Lima Church. These donations are now helping provide nutritious meals to seniors and families in need throughout the county.

“This initiative is a win on all fronts,” said Commissioner Arrington. “It recognizes the dedication of our youth, strengthens our local food system, and delivers meaningful support to organizations that serve some of our most vulnerable residents. That’s what community is all about.”
