St. Cloud police investigating Tohoqua burglaries; juveniles suspected

The St. Cloud Police Department is asking Tohoqua residents to see if they may have been burglary victims as it investigates a string of stolen packages.

Wednesday, the department received tips that several packages reported stolen in the community had been spotted outside a home on Good Neighbor Loop. Residents shared security or doorbell camera footage of three male juveniles, on bikes or scooters, roaming the neighborhood in the areas where the thefts were reported.

During the overnight, SCPD officers observed the three suspects return to the neighborhood and burglarize a construction trailer. Though the use of the department K-9 unit and drones, and with the assistance of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office STAR helicopter, one of the three male suspects was taken into custody. Later this morning, based on information from the first captured suspect, a search warrant was carried out that resulted in the recovery of several stolen items; including electronics, debit/credit cards, and more.

Other multiple charges are pending as the investigation continues with the help of Department of Children and Families, whose help has been enlisted due to the involvement of juveniles. SCPD's Street Crimes Unit is working to return as much of the stolen property as possible and ask that any residents in and around the Tohoqua community that believe they may have been a victim of theft or burglary recently to make contact with the department either by calling (407) 891-6741, or anonymously by calling CRIMELINE at (407) 423-TIPS (8477).
