St. Cloud Main Street awards dinner caps 25-year celebration

Monday Aug. 18’s St. Cloud Main Street annual Awards Dinner at Phyre Saloon and Steakhouse culminating a year-long celebration of the historical preservation organization’s 25th anniversary.

Individuals, businesses, and partners who have played a vital role in shaping the heart of the city were honored and received some awards. Among those honored were the 2025:

Board Member of the Year: Brian Wetzel, President & CEO Orlando Health;
Supporter of the Year: VFW Post 3227;
Merchant of the Year: – Hodgins Home Appliances;
Volunteer of the Year:  Lavada Taylor;
Business of the Year: Granny’s Southern Smokehouse;
Renovation Project of the Year:  The Spice & Tea Trading Post;
Partner of the Year:  Scott Locke, AmeraTrail;
Legend Award:  C.D. Lewis, Lewis and Massey, P.A.;
President’s Award – Tom Dorsey.

During the event, St. Cloud Main Street reported that it has invested more than $6 million into the downtown district through initiatives like events, mural projects, historic markers, advertising, technical grants, and beautification efforts—not including operational costs. The organization also recognized over 160,000 volunteer hours dedicated to giving back to the city.
