Sheriff's Office: Gun found at Bellalago Academy Tuesday causing lockdown a BB or air soft pistol

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office reports a discovered gun that caused a lockdown at Bellalago Academy in Kissimmee Tuesday morning was a BB or air soft pistol.

At approximately 11:23 a.m., Bellalago Academy was put into a red lockdown in reference to students reporting seeing a gun in a student’s backpack. The student was quickly identified and secured. After a thorough search, a school resource officers reported that a gun, a black BB or CO2 gun, had been found in a classroom by a substitute teacher.

The gun has been secured and charges are pending, the Sheriff's Office said, and no other known threats are present, and this is considered an "isolated incident." Deputies are still actively investigating.
