The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has taken a person of interest into custody regarding a triple homicide it began investigating this morning at a housing complex along Royal Palm Drive in Buenaventura Lakes.
Kevin Christopher Torres was arrested and charged with grand theft auto and armed burglary to an occupied dwelling. Sheriff Marcos Lopez said this morning they had a suspect surrounded in a barricaded vehicle in Orange County.
There are no details on further charges. Torres was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries not related to his arrest.
The Sheriff’s Office said there are currently no other outstanding suspects in the homicide case. The identities of the victims of the homicide will not be released until all family members of the deceased victims are notified, as this is a pending and on-going investigation.
Lopez said deputies responded when a resident called 911 to report a deceased body. Two were found in one unit, and a third was found in a unit on the other side of the building. One of the three victims is reportedly a 16-year-old. Thus far, no motive is clear.
