Florida Sen. Kristen Arrington (D-Kissimmee) and Rep. Jose Alvarez (D-Kissimmee), who both represent Osceola County residents in the Florida Senate and House of Representatives, have announced a joint legislative Town Hall in Poinciana on Friday, May 22 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Poinciana High School Business Center.
At this event, residents will have the opportunity to connect with their state legislators and engage in open, direct dialogue about the needs of their community.
Registration is required and residents can submit questions by following this link: bit.ly/PoincianaTH.
This event was originally scheduled to be held at the Concorde Estates clubhouse, but was moved, Arrington’s office said, to better accommodate attendees and ensure an even stronger community gathering. Concorde Estates homeowners have raised concerns about the financial practices of its Community Development District—the mini-government like that serves as a de facto HOA—rising assessments and the condition of neighborhood amenities. Residents in that community have said in the past that annual fees have increased significantly in recent years while maintenance and amenities have declined.
“Hosting events, like this townhall, are so important because it gives residents the opportunity to be heard and to stay informed about what is happening at the state level,” Arrington said. “I am proud to partner with Representative Alvarez to bring this conversation directly to the Poinciana community. Together, we remain committed to listening, addressing concerns, and ensuring that every voice plays a role in shaping the future of our district.”
“Every family deserves to feel heard and connected to the people who represent them. I’m grateful to partner with Senator Kristen Arrington for this Concorde Estates town hall so we can listen directly to residents, answer questions, and work together on the issues impacting our community every day,” Alvarez said. “These conversations are essential to building stronger neighborhoods and making sure state government is working for the people we serve.”
