Osceola County Sheriff's deputies are on scene investigating a shooting that left a young child dead.
The incident took place just before 4 p.m. Saturday on Scrapbook Street in Kissimmee, which is located in The Cove East at Storey Lake rental community north of Pioneer Village at Shingle Creek Regional Park. Deputies were called to the area after receiving a 911 call about a shooting, Sheriff's Office spokesperson Capt. Kim Montes said.
Deputies found that a young child that had been shot; the child was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital and later pronounced deceased. Police have not yet shared the age of the victim or any details of the shooting.
Police called the shooting an isolated incident, and that there is no threat to the community.
