The Osceola County School Board strongly believes that parents should decide which academic environment best meets their students' needs and interests. In order to inform parents and students of their expanded high-quality school choice options within the Osceola School District for the 2022-2023 school year, the district will host Choice Week from November 15-19, 2021. The week will help families make sense of the district’s school choice process and give parents the knowledge and tools they need to make the right choice for their children. The following happenings will take place throughout Choice Week 2021:
Monday, November 15: "Mix-Match Monday" . . . Explore Your Options!
Students and staff across the district are invited to wear mix-matched patterns to school to celebrate school choice. Both parents and students are invited to log on to the district's interactive school choice website at www.myosceolachoice.school to take a fun interactive quiz to see which school in the Osceola School District best matches their child's interests and to learn about the offerings at each school.
Tuesday, November 16: "Tie-Dye Tuesday" . . . Art Blast!
Students and staff across the district are invited to dress in tie-dye and stand out at school as they "tie" up their future and shift into high gear. Students are encouraged to show off their artistic talent by posting their favorite dance, self-made artwork, or even a song on social media. Parents and students are also invited to log on to Flipgrid at https://www.osceolaschools.net/choicetours and take virtual tours to see first-hand the schools they are interested in attending.
Wednesday, November 17: "Psyched About Your Future Wednesday" . . . Link A Career To Your Future!
Students across the district are invited to gear up for success and dress up for their future careers. Be on the lookout for trivia questions on social media as we highlight different job fields and careers.
Thursday, November 18: "School Spirit Thursday" . . . Make Your Choice Today!
All parents and students are invited to attend the Osceola School District's 2021 Choice Fair on November 18, 2021, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Exhibition Center at Osceola Heritage Park to learn about the high-quality schools and options available from kindergarten through Grade 12.
Friday, November 19: "Fri-Yay Bright Day" . . You Made A Bright Choice!
Students and staff across the district are invited to wear sunglasses and hats because their futures look bright.
The district invites parents and students to utilize #readysetgetintogear!, #readysetgearup!, and #SDOCGoodtoGreat on social media posts highlighting participation during the week. The district's online Choice application window for the 2022-2023 school year will run from November 18, 2021, through January 28, 2022.
