Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world.
While the donation time for individuals, families to pack a shoebox gift filled with fun toys, school supplies, and personal care items for children in need, occurred during National Collection Week, Nov. 17-24, those who still want to donate can carry out their Operation Christmas Child project through the Build a Shoebox online option.
“Every shoebox gift is an opportunity to tell a boy or girl that God loves them. That’s why we do what we do,” said Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan’s Purse. “I’m thankful for every single person who packs a shoebox because these simple gifts open a door. “The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world.”
There is still time to make a donation and build an online shoebox at https:/samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child. Keep in mind that shoeboxes must be built by Dec. 31 to count in the current year’s shoebox total.
Make a suggested donation, then personalize the box by choosing from a selection of toys and other fun items to include in your gift, and add your own letter and a photo. Samaritan’s Purse will pack everything for you and send it on its way with the message of love for a boy or girl in need around the world.
