Fears that SunRail service would be out south of the Meadow Woods station into Osceola County "for weeks" can now be eased, as the Florida Department of Transportation announced full service will resume, all the way south to Poinciana, Monday (Oct. 17).
FDOT announced Friday afternoon that repair work along the Central Florida Rail Corridor is now complete. The corridor sustained damages to the track in north Kissimmee following Hurricane Ian. Part of the track crossing of a creek washed out, and a tree uprooted over part of the tracks in the area.
With all repairs now complete, SunRail will begin running their normal schedule to all 16 stations from DeBary to Poinciana starting on Monday, October 17, 2022. View the full schedule at SunRail.com.
In addition, Old Tampa Highway between South Poinciana Boulevard and Tallahassee Boulevard is re-opened Friday afternoon.
