Florida Highway Patrol reports a Kissimmee man was killed Sunday afternoon on Pleasant Hill Road when his car left the road, struck a tree and utility pole and overturned.
The 52-year-old driver was pronounced dead on the scene, FHP reports.
As of 7:30 p.m., the northbound lanes of Pleasant Hill were blocked for the investigation.
The Toyota Corolla was northbound on Pleasant Hill near Rosemarie Drive, about a mile south of John Young Parkway, in the the outside lane and, for unknown reasons, lost control and struck a curb, FHP spokesperson Lt. Tara Crescenzi said. The car then ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. That impact caused the vehicle to overturn and collide with the electric pole.
