Salvation Army’s Pathway to Housing assists another Osceola family
The Salvation Army of Osceola County has helped another family into homeownership through its Pathway to Housing program, an extension of the nationwide Pathway of Hope initiative.
The Quiceno family says it can now raise its children in a stable home they own.
“We are beyond grateful to Osceola County and The Salvation Army and all involved for walking so closely beside us,” said the Quiceno family. “From workshops and credit counseling to accountability and encouragement, every step of the way we felt supported and prepared for success. We now look forward to raising our children in our own home and building a brighter future together.”
Through Pathway to Housing, families are empowered through credit counseling, case management and financial education to prepare them for long-term stability that fosters success.
“This milestone is about more than just closing on a house, it’s about breaking cycles and building futures,” said Emma Peña, Pathway to Housing Program Director. “The Quiceno family’s success shows what’s possible when families commit to the process and when the community rallies together to provide the resources and support they need. We’re excited to see even more families reach this same dream before the year ends.”
This initiative is made possible thanks to the unwavering support of Commissioner Peggy Choudhry of District 1, the Osceola County Commissioners, Congressman Darren Soto, Housing 4 All and a network of profit and nonprofit partners. Local banks also play a vital role, offering financial literacy workshops to ensure families are wellequipped for the responsibilities of homeownership.
“I want to thank The Salvation Army and Osceola County because partnering in this makes us all feel great,” said Commissioner Peggy Choudhry of District 1, who works fervently with Salvation Army. “We are helping with housing needs in a different format that’s never really been done before and having people own their own homes; this is incredible and we’re going to keep doing it.
