Locals earn Citadel honors
Justin White of Kissimmee is one of the more than 650 cadets and students at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., recognized for their academic achievements during the spring 2022 semester.
Gold stars are awarded to cadets and students at The Citadel who achieved a 3.7 grade point average or higher. Cadets and students who achieve gold star recognition are also placed on The Citadel’s Dean’s list.
Those cadets may wear gold stars on their uniforms throughout the semester following their academic achievement.
In addition, Tristan Eberbach of Celebration and Gerik Siwko of St. Cloud were named to the Dean’s List. They receive a medal, which is worn on their uniform during the semester following their academic achievement.
The Citadel offers a classic military college education for young men and women focused on leadership excellence and academic distinction.
Arrington named Legislative Deputy Whip
Florida House Democratic Leader Fentrice Driskell (D-Tampa) appointed Kissimmee state Rep. Kristen Arrington as a Deputy Whip for the upcoming legislative term. Deputy Whips will assist the Caucus Whip, Representative Christine Hunschofsky (D-Parkland), in rapidly transmitting information between Democratic Caucus leadership and the members.
“Representative Arrington brings a common sense, level-headed perspective to everything she does,” Driskell said. “She is a team player, her laughter is infectious, and I am excited to bring her aboard to help lead our Caucus with a balanced approach as we rebuild.”
