Work continues on a State Road 417 expansion project, and that will require the closure of some roads that lead north out of Osceola County that locals may use to get to Orlando and points north.
Sunday through Thursday (May 14-18) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: The northbound and southbound ramps from Florida’s Turnpike to northbound SR 417 (Exit 251), for bridge work. Drivers will be directed to travel southbound on SR 417 to US 441/South Orange Blossom Trail (Exit 11) and follow the detour signs to get back to north 417.
As well, the the southbound SR 417 ramps to Florida’s Turnpike will close, drivers will continue on to exit at Orange Blossom Trail and follow signs, and the northbound SR 417 ramps to Florida’s Turnpike will be closed; drivers will continue on to exit at Landstar Boulevard and follow signs.
This work is for a capacity improvements project on SR 417 from John Young Parkway to Landstar Boulevard, which started in March 2021 and is expected to be complete in spring 2024.
