KUA President/GM Brian Horton elected VP of Fla. Municipal Electric Assoc. Board of Directors

At their annual conference in Naples, members of the Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) elected Brian Horton, President and General Manager, CEO of Kissimmee Utility Authority, as vice president of the organization’s board of directors.

“This past year has been more than challenging, but Florida’s public power communities pulled together like we always do to support one another and our customers as we all dealt with an unprecedented situation,” Horton said.

“I am proud to be part of this association and look forward to serving Florida public power in this new capacity.”

Horton has been CEO of KUA since April 2019. He has 20 years of engineering, operations and regulatory experience within the electric utility industry.

“We are so fortunate to have Brian and his fellow officers at the helm of this organization,” said Amy Zubaly, FMEA Executive Director. “Together they bring decades of industry experience, leadership and a true passion for public power that will help us realize our vision for providing our communities with the next generation of clean, affordable and reliable power.”
