A Kissimmee woman was killed Monday morning when she was struck crossing Koa Street in Poinciana, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
According to FHP's report, the incident occurred at approximately 6:17 a.m. at Koa and San Lorenzo Road. The 63-year-old woman was reportedly in a marked crosswalk in a dimly-lit area of the intersection when a Honda Civic driven by a 51-year-old Kissimmee man headed eastbound on Koa collided with the woman, who was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver and his teenage passenger were not injured and remained on scene.
There was a roadblock at the intersection into the morning drive-time hours.
FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
