If you live in Kissimmee, you may know an instant millionaire, thanks to the Florida Lottery’s Gold Rush scratch-off game.
The Florida Lottery announced Thursday that Mensny Oreste, 41, of Kissimmee, claimed a $5 million top prize from the Gold Rush Limited scratch-off game at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. She chose to receive her winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $3.96 million. She bought the ticket at a Circle K convenience store in Sanford.
The $20 Scratch-Off game launched in September 2021 features 32 top prizes of $5 million and 100 prizes of $1 million.
Lottery officials say scratch-off games comprise some 77 percent of ticket sales in fiscal year 2021-22.
