A 51-year-old Kissimmee man in the roadway was struck and killed by a southbound vehicle on Vineland Road south of the LBV Factory Outlet Stores early Sunday morning, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Per FHP's crash report, it is unknown if the victim was kneeling or lying in the roadway when struck around 5:40 a.m. Sunday by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 43-year-old Orlando man. The victim was not within a marked crosswalk, FHP said, and was hit by the undercarriage of the Jeep; the driver continued southbound on Vineland and advised later he did not know what was struck. The driver was not injured; the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
The crash remains under investigation, FHP says.
