Kissimmee man killed in Saturday crash after being struck by stolen SUV

A police chase that started in Polk County early Saturday morning ended in Osceola County with a crash that took the life of a Kissimmee man in Poinciana, Florida Highway Patrol officials said this weekend.

A 27-year-old man was killed around 2 a.m. Saturday when his Honda Civic was struck by a stolen Range Rover that Polk County Sheriffs were chasing from a house party in Davenport. The SUV was headed southbound on Marigold Avenue, then entered the northbound lanes near Peabody Road to pass other vehicles while fleeing. The Honda driver was traveling eastbound on Peabody Road approaching Marigold Avenue, where the two collided when the SUV ran through a four-way stop sign.

Four occupants from the Range Rover attempted to flee on foot, FHP said, and three -- 20 and 23-year-old males from Kissimmee and a 23-year-old North Carolina man -- were caught by responding law enforcement. FHP is still searching for a possible fourth occupant, and are investigating who was the driver at the time of collision. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call FHP at 407-737-2213.
