A 21-year-old Orlando man died Monday afternoon when Florida Highway Patrol says another driver turned into the path of his motorcycle while trying to make a U-turn.
The crash occurred just before 2 p.m. on southbound Boggy Creek south of Lake Nona Boulevard, about a mile north of the Osceola County line. Troopers say a Toyota Corolla driven by a 72-year-old Kissimmee man and the Orlando man aboard his KTM Duke motorcycle were both headed south when the Corolla driver in the right lane turned into the path of the motorcyclist in the left lane. As a result, the motorcycle struck the left rear of the Corolla.
Booth drivers were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where the Orlando man was pronounced dead. The Kissimmee man was treated for minor injuries, the FHP report said.
The incident, which FHP says remains under investigation, closed Boggy Creek Road in both directions for over three hours.
