Kissimmee man dies in Landstar Blvd. crash

Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 71-year-old Kissimmee man died Tuesday morning when his vehicle crossed the median on Landstar Boulevard, causing a crash that left two others in another vehicle injured.

Per the FHP report, at 11:19 a.m. the man was traveling north on Landstar when, for unknown reasons, his Kia Rondo crossed the road's raised center median and entered the southbound lanes, into the path of an Infinity QX60 driven by a 39-year-old Orlando man. The right side of the Kia collided with the front of the Infiniti near Washington Woods Lane, about a mile south of Wetherbee Road, just into Orange County.

The Kissimmee man was transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The other driver was transported to UCF Lake Nona Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, and a 12-year-old passenger was transported to Nemours Children's Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
