Osceola Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man they say gave alcohol to a 14-year-old female victim and sexually battering her.
Matthew Nieves, 24, was arrested Monday and charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious battery, one count of lewd and lascivious conduct, and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The investigation began Sunday when the Sheriff's Special Victim's Unit responded to the report of a sex battery of the victim, who revealed the suspect had intercourse with her while on the back porch of her grandmother's residence. Nieves, a friend of the victim's family, admitted the encounter and providing her with alcohol during an interview. Monday, the Sheriff's Office obtained a warrant for Nieves' arrest.
