The back-to-school rush — classes begin in Osceola County on Aug. 10 — has begun, and going out to get school supplies shouldn’t be the only thing on the late summer to-do list.
Students must have their immunizations to begin school, and The Florida Department of Health in Osceola County is hosting free immunizations events at local schools for Osceola County students needing TDAP (Tetanus-Diphtheria-Pertussis).
Immunizations are free and are offered without appointments at the following locations. Parents should begin their children’s recent immunization records, along with a birth certificate or other form of ID, and a parent or guardian with valid ID must accompany them.
The locations are:
Monday, July 25, St. Cloud Middle School, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
Tuesday, July 26, Kissimmee Middle School. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
Wednesday, July 27, Bellalago Charter Academy, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.;
Thursday, July 28, Denn John Middle School, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m..
Additionally, the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County will also host free immunization events with walk-in availability for all required school immunizations at its main campus located at 1875 Fortune Road in Kissimmee. Those will be held on July 30, Aug. 6 and 8-12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Aug. 1-5 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Vaccine and TDAP consent forms for these dates are available for download to bring to the events. Find them online at https://osceola.floridahealth.gov/events/2022/07/Osceola-Immunization-Event.html
