Osceola fire officials are working Sunday to contain two brush fires and protect nearby structures.
A smaller brush fire broke out around 2 p.m. in the vicinity of Southport Road on the south side of Lake Tohopekaliga.
Of more concern is another fire that's burned about 50 acres of the woods just to the west of Avenue A near South Orange Blossom Trail and Poinciana Boulevard.
While no structures are threatened, fire crews are monitoring a nearby commercial nursery, and an Osceola County Fire Rescue spokesperson said a truck depot and the Restaurant Depot on Poinciana Boulevard were evacuated as a precaution.
Additionally, as black smoke continues to come from the fire and blown easterly by gusty winds, drivers using Orange Blossom Trail and Poinciana Boulevard are asked to use caution or find an alternate route, such as Old Tampa Highway or Pleasant Hill Road.
