FHP updates victim info on Monday 192 hit-and-run fatality; Kissimmee man died in Orange County crash

Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide investigators have provided an update regarding the fatal hit and run crash that occurred Monday on U.S. Highway 192 (E Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) in Osceola County at Simmons Road near Florida's Turnpike.

The identity of the bicyclist whom was pronounced deceased has been confirmed as a 36-year-old from Kissimmee. Per the FHP report, he was struck by an eastbound vehicle, possibly a light-colored Ford F-150, just after 6 a.m. along 192 near the St. Cloud Commons shopping area. The bicycle was in the marked bike lane, the report said.

For an unknown reason, the vehicle traveled into the bike lane and struck the cyclist with its right side, then fled the scene after the collision. The cyclist was pronounced dead on scene.

Troopers are looking for a white, Ford F-250 (newer model, 2017 forward) that could possibly be involved in this crash. Any mechanics or auto body shops that may have replaced or repaired a front right headlight matching the above vehicle description is asked to contact FHP at 407-737-2213 or CRIMELINE AT 1-800-423-TIPS, as the crash remains under investigation.

Also, a pedestrian killed when struck by a Jeep Renegade on eastbound Jetport Drive east of Boggy Creek Road in Orange County in the early-morning hours of Sept. 14 was identified as 43-year-old male from Kissimmee.

Around 4:22 a.m., the man was walking in a southerly direction across Jetport Drive not in a crosswalk, and in the direct path of the Jeep, which hit him.
