FHP: Three from Kissimmee killed in head-on West 192 collision

The three people killed in a Saturday morning head-on collision on West U.S. Highway 192 are all from Kissimmee, the Florida Highway Patrol reported later in the evening.

Per an FHP press release on the crash, which occurred at 10:45 a.m. near the intersection of 192 and Four Winds Boulevard, it took the lives of the 71-year-old male driver and 65 and 78-year-old female passengers of a westbound sedan. Police say another sedan, headed eastbound, driven by a 32-year-old Bartow man, crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with the other car. That driver reportedly has minor injuries.

This investigation is on-going and, according to the report, "Will be in depth in nature" -- a notation not normally seen in FHP reports.

The next of kin of the three victims had not been notified as of Saturday evening, FHP said.
