A motorcyclist from St. Cloud has died and another is injured after their bikes collided on Hickory Tree Road late Wednesday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
A motorcyclist from St. Cloud has died and another is injured after their bikes collided on Hickory Tree Road late Wednesday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
As of 8 p.m., FHP said there is a roadblock in the area.
According to FHP's crash report, the two riders, 48- and 29-year-old men from St. Cloud, were riding together on Hickory Tree around 5:48 p.m. when the older rider lost control near Chaplin Road, just east of Lake Gentry Road. The ride side of his Kawasaki collided with the left side of the 29-year-old's Yamaha, causing both to run off the right side of the road.
The Kawasaki struck a fence, then a tree, and the 48-year-old was pronounced deceased on scene. The younger rider was transported to St. Cloud Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
