This is directed to those who hit the Wild Turkey as much as the turkey on the plate this Thanksgiving holiday.
As it normally does during holiday seasons that will likely including traveling and driving, AAA is offering its ‘Tow to Go’ program to help keep impaired drivers off the road. The service will be active from 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, through 6m a.m. Monday, Dec. 1
With millions of Americans expected to hit the road at least 50 miles from home this weekend, AAA is urging everyone to plan ahead and make safe choices.
‘Tow to Go’ is a free, confidential ride and tow for impaired drivers and their vehicles to a safe location within a 10-mile radius. Open to both AAA members and non-members, the program is designed as a last-resort safety net when other options, like a designated driver or rideshare, fall through.
“Since holiday celebrations can lead to risky choices, AAA offers Tow to Go to prevent those choices from turning into tragedies,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “If you find yourself without a safe ride, call AAA and we’ll help get you and your vehicle to a safe place.”
Floridians, AAA members and non-members alike, can call 855-2-TOW-2-GO for a free tow and ride. This service cannot be scheduled in advance and should only be used as a backup plan.
Thanksgiving weekend is one of the most dangerous times to be on the road due to increased traffic and celebrations.
“AAA encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly by planning ahead,” Jenkins said. “Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or stay overnight if needed. Together we can make this Thanksgiving a safe and joyful one for all.”
