Davenport woman killed in Friday night Osceola-Polk Line Road, FHP says

A 20-year-old Davenport woman was killed late Friday night when her Ford Fusion ran off Osceola-Polk Line Road and became engulfed in flames, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.

Per the FHP, just before midnight the vehicle was headed westbound east of Heritage Pass just east of Interstate 4. Troopers say the Fusion was traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control, ran off the roadway left and struck a tree. That impact caused the car to become fully engulfed in flames. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.

The crash remains under investigation, FHP says.
