Have you ever wondered why it is getting increasingly hotter over the years? Due to climate change, we can identify the causes and effects of this issue. It’s not a surprise that scientists and researchers have been analyzing and determining causes that trigger climate change. However, even though climate change is well known by the public, it keeps increasing every year. As stated by the Center for Climate and Energy Solution, humans are known as the main cause of this phenomenon.
What is climate change? In simple terms, it’s the change of the climate due to the usage of fossil fuels. One factor that causes pollution is Carbon Dioxide (C02) which can be found in cars, planes and industries. Due to this factor, the ozone layer gets hurt. The ozone layer absorbs ultraviolet sun rays; if it is harmed then part of the rays get into the planet, leading it to be dangerously hot. According to the Global Monitoring Laboratory, from 1960 up to 2021, carbon dioxide has increased dramatically. However, there is still hope and there are some actions which might reduce this. Some examples are the use of cleaner energy sources with the use of solar panels. Reducing waste by using the method reduce, reuse, and recycle, limiting transportation by using bikes, walking, and maintaining the fuel economy by going easy on car gas. Reducing water by loading the washer with cold water and turning off any currently open faucets will help with unnecessary usage. Lastly, citizens should learn about the climatic threats our communities may face to gain a better understanding of them. All these little actions may cause positive impacting results.
Moving forward, all living things on the vast and complex planet Earth including people, animals, plants, plus the weather component, all interact to sustain life. Although, these entities can be negatively impacted by any abrupt changes in the climate, and has led to some natural disasters such as storms, heat waves, air pollution and droughts. In other words, the climate changes affect temperature, sea level and precipitation. Even the tiniest negative effect on the environment could bring a huge impact on the global climate.
In conclusion, if people don’t act, the levels of contamination could rise and increase the damage to the ozone layer. This leads to destruction in the environment and climate; people must act. Without a balanced climate change, the earth will constantly get warmer and warmer. Hotter temperatures can cause the atmosphere to hold more moisture, which increases the likelihood of both drought and severe storms. As a result of the melting of the polar ice caps brought on by increased temperatures, sea levels may rise. Flooding will occur, storm surges will be worse, and coastal areas will sustain damage. By taking action now, the probability that these problems will decrease provides the earth with greater hope.
