4 1/4 day weekend: Osceola School District to dismiss early Wednesday, close schools Thursday due to Tropical Storm Nicole's approach

From the Osceola County School District:

As deteriorating weather conditions are anticipated due to Subtropical Storm Nicole, all Osceola public schools will be closed on Thursday, November 10th.  Parents are also advised that all schools will release one hour earlier than normal on Wednesday, November 9th.  Please keep in mind Wednesday is already an early release day, and now schools will release an additional hour early to ensure our students have time to get home safely.  After-school care, activities, and events will conclude at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday when all schools and district offices close.

(Note: This will require a change to the football bowl game scheduled for Wednesday at 7 p.m. between St. Cloud and Poinciana High at Poinciana.)

No Osceola School District employee should report to work on Thursday unless directed by their supervisor.

All schools and district offices will be closed on Friday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day.  Classes will resume on Monday, November 14th.

Parents and community residents are encouraged to monitor the district's website at www.osceolaschools.net and social media pages for any further school district updates. Parents will receive call-out messages and Remind texts with updated information.
