Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital has opened a state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) suite in order to, as the hospital states, elevate patient comfort and expand access to diagnostic imaging services.
The hospital’s new MRI suite offers a wide range of imaging services to help diagnose patients, including scans for neurology, orthopedics and cardiology.
This MRI utilizes a breast coil, which uses magnetic fields and contrast enhancement to evaluate breast tissue at a more detailed level. This allows for improved detection in certain high-risk patients.
“Investing in advanced technology like this means better care, faster results and improved outcomes for our patients,” said Marc Lillis, chief operating officer of Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital. “It is inspiring to see how these advancements will continue to improve the health and quality of life of the individuals and communities we serve.”
The MRI system is also equipped with airflow technology that helps patients feel cooler and less confined during a scan — an important benefit for anyone who experience anxiety or claustrophobia in a standard MRI unit. Advanced imaging techniques eliminate the need for breath-holding during certain exams, reducing scan time and enhancing image resolution.
The suite was designed to create a peaceful, relaxing environment for patients, incorporating features such as color-changing ambient lighting and a soothing water landscape mural.
