Twenty local students have received scholarships for the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA). Osceola County Board of Commissioners Brandon Arrington, Vivian Janer, and Cheryl Grieb dedicated some of their community funds to provide $8,000 to these high school students to participate in the RYLA in February.
RYLA is a 4-day youth leadership camp designed to challenge students into developing their leadership ability. Whether to lead themselves or a team, the educational sessions and activities in the camp help uncover skills they didn’t know they had and provide support to sharpen skills they already use.
Students must be sponsored by a Rotary organization; these students were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kissimmee West.
