Votes for the winners raised funds for the Council on Aging
The Rotary Club of Kissimmee West just completed the Virtual Art Contest, and has named its winners.
Each spring the Rotary Club partners with the Osceola County School District and the Osceola Council on Aging (OCOA) to recognize the importance of the creative arts in a student’s life. The juried event includes over 500 pieces of art, and fans cast votes at the Council's website (osceolagenerations.org), with a donation to the Council on Aging with each vote.
Cash awards are presented to the students (based on grade) as well as their art teachers. The People’s Choice award generates a great deal of activity on the School District and OCOA websites to vote for a favorite piece of art at . The winner is awarded a cash prize, and the proceeds go to the Council on Aging's programs in the community.
