In recognition that many customers, including federal employees and contractors, may be experiencing temporary financial hardship during the ongoing, now month-long federal shutdown, KUA is getting flexible with payment and pre-payment plans.
"KUA has a long-standing commitment to supporting customers during difficult times," a statement from the utility read Friday. "KUA understands that interruptions in employment can put stress on household budgets, and remains dedicated to working with those affected.
Customers affected by the shutdown are encouraged to contact KUA at 407-933-9800. The utility offers a range of flexible payment options and utility assistance programs, including flexible payment arrangements and extensions to help customers manage their bill, a new e-FlexPay program that allows customers to prepay their electric usage for better control of when and how payments are made (find information at kua.com/eflexpay).
The existing Good Neighbor Utility Assistance Fund is a voluntary customer contributory program that helps KUA customers experiencing financial difficulty pay their KUA utility bills in emergency situations.
