Leaders of local electric companies have been named to state power agencies Board of Directors.
The Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) elected Brian Horton, President and General Manager of Kissimmee Utility Authority, as president of the organization’s board of directors, and elected Clint Bullock, General Manager & CEO of OUC as vice president
In addition, Larry Mattern, Vice President of Operations for Kissimmee Utility Authority, was re-elected as Secretary for the Florida Municipal Power Agency’s (FMPA) Board of Directors and Executive Committee. FMPA’s Board of Directors makes policy decisions for the power supply projects of FMPA
“This association is immensely important to me, and I am humbled to have the opportunity to serve as its president over the next year,” Horton said. “There will be many opportunities and challenges ahead, and I know FMEA will be there to guide its members on a path forward to success.”
Horton has been chief administrator of KUA since April 2019.
“Providing affordable, reliable, resilient and sustainable service is what municipal utilities are all about,” said Bullock. “As we continue to be innovative to meet the changing needs of our customers and communities across the state, I’m honored to serve as FMEA’s vice president. I look forward to working together with our members as we advocate on behalf of public power.”
A 33-year OUC veteran, Bullock became General Manager & CEO in 2018. Prior to that, he led the utility’s electric and water delivery operations, including engineering, construction, maintenance and operations of the transmission and distribution systems.
