Osceola County Sheriff's deputies Saturday arrested a man they say fired shots into his ex-girlfriend's car then fled with his own daughter in his own vehicle.
After fleeing on a motorcycle then briefly on foot, Josue Emmanuel Figueroa Jr., 27, was arrested and faces a litany of charges: attempted Murder, aggravated battery, aggravated stalking, discharging a firearm in public, armed burglary, child neglect, grand
theft, criminal mischief and robbery with a weapon. He is being held at the Osceola County Jail on no bond.
Deputies say they responded to reports of shots fired and an aggravated battery on Fortune Road around 5 a.m. Saturday. A 27-year-old female stated an made contact with her at a bar at 1:30 a.m., confronted her and physically attacked her. He left the bar but continued to harass her via phone.
In a parking lot off Fortune Road, deputies say the suspect confronted the victim in her vehicle and fired multiple rounds into the victim’s car while she was sitting in the driver’s seat. The suspect battered the victim, stole her cellphone and fled the area in his vehicle — with his 4-year-old daughter in the back seat.
Police say after a search for the suspect, he was located at his residence at 1:15 p.m. Deputies say he fled the scene on a motorcycle at a high rate of speed, later abandoning the motorcycle and fleeing on foot into a wooded area, near Cricket Cradle Drive, which is about a mile north of his listed Kissimmee address. The suspect’s mother was contacted, the OCSO report said, and convinced her son to come out of the woods and surrender to deputies, leading to his arrest.
A Josue Emmanuel Figueroa Jr. with the same address and birthdate has a number of arrests listed in Osceola County court records, including misdemeanor resisting without violence, felony battery and a drug possession charge in 2022 in which he also fled from police on foot.
