A fatal hit-and-run crash occurred on April 29 on Osceola Parkway, and the Florida Highway Patrol is turning to the public for information into a a vehicle that struck a pedestrian before leaving the scene.
Troopers say the crash happened around 12:38 a.m. at Osceola Parkway near Plumwood Circle, just east of Florida's Turnpike. According to their report, FHP says a Toyota Camry was traveling east on Osceola Parkway (away from the Turnpike) in the center lane, and struck a 41-year-old Kissimmee man who was crossing the road not in a marked crosswalk. The impact propelled the victim into the inside lane, where another vehicle struck the victim, then fled the scene east on on Osceola Parkway. The Camry driver remained on-scene.
The victim, who was transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital, died from his injuries on May 9.
FHP investigators say they believe the second vehicle could be a white Mercedes SUV. Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call FHP at *347, or CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS.
