A 29-year-old St. Cloud man was hurt and the drivers of two vehicles were seriously hurt Sunday morning when the cars collided head on along Simpson Road early Sunday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Just after 5:30 a.m., a Ford F-150 pickup driven by a 44-year-old man from Kissimmee was traveling southbound on Simpson, when it failed to negotiate a right-hand curve south of Eagle Bay Boulevard, just north of Royal Palm Drive. It veered into the northbound lanes and crossed into the path of a northbound Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 22-year-old St. Cloud woman, and the two vehicles collided head-on.
All three were transported to HCA Florida Osceola Hospital. The St. Cloud man, a passenger in the Jetta, was pronounced deceased; the two drivers received non life-threatening injuries, the FHP report said.
The crash remains under investigation.
