If your commute involves Osceola-Polk Line Road (Country Road 532) near Championsgate this week during the overnight hours, be aware of a Florida Department of Transportation project that will require a road closure.
FDOT will close the eastbound lanes under Interstate 4 from 11:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, through Thursday, Sept. 11. The two left-turn lanes at the I-4 westbound off ramp (Exit 58) to eastbound ChampionsGate Boulevard (C.R. 532) will also be closed.
See the detour map for how to get around it. Basically, drivers will use westbound ChampionsGate Boulevard, then make a left of Ronald Reagan Boulevard, and a left on Old Lake Wilson Road to get back to 532. Drivers who are coming down I-4 East can also exit earlier at U.S. 192 west, then turn left on Old Lake Wilson Road to get to 532.
Crews will be erecting girders to the I-4 eastbound bridge at ChampionsGate Boulevard (C.R. 532), which will provide the capacity improvements as part of the Moving I-4 Forward Program’s accelerated project.
Although I-4 eastbound and westbound will remain open during the project, there will be nightly outside lane and shoulder closures on I-4 eastbound at mile market 58 from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sept. 8-11 for the delivery and staging of the bridge girders.
